I was quite fascinated by the Viera and their 'Wood', and was hoping for a bit more elaboration on their story and lifestyle. Unfortunately it's basically just treated as another stepping stone to getting where you need to be, and Fran's backstory is never expanded upon beyond this brief visit. I felt Fran's character was ineffective because of this, and would've liked to have seen that story and history of the Viera expanded just a bit more. I'm not sure if they're dealt with more in depth in the other Ivalice titles, but so far I've only played XII and they were the race who interested me the most but explored the least!
